You never know when you will need some first aid supplies along a hike. What you bring will probably depend to some extent on how long a hike you are doing, where you are hiking, and how many people are in your group. Poisonous snake bites can be deadly. Wear long pants and boots in areas where poisonous snakes reside, and in areas of heavy foliage where the trail is obscured, poke the area in front of you with a stick to scare snakes away.
